MET Norway: Abusive loads on thredds.met.no
MET Norway · met.noImpact: nonemonitoring2026-10-01 08:02 UTC
Public — what happened
Summary
Over the past days we have experienced high and abusive loads on the public service thredds.met.no
This has resulted in a large number of "thredds.met.no - https down" messages on status.met.no.
We have been in contact with one organization so that the load is now reduced, but we will continue to monitor the situation and may have to block some of the users if this continues.
Please note that our priority users with an Service Level Agreement have not been affected by the outages.
Also note that in an unrelated incidence in our production system several models failed to produce results last night, and some forecasts are delayed. Our staff is working to restore normal production.
