Summary
On Thursday, September 24, 2026, at approximately 13:07 PT (20:07 UTC) Marqeta identified an issue affecting card transactions processed through Mastercard, in which a number of transactions across several Mastercard programs were declined or handled through the network's stand-in processing. Transaction volumes and processing patterns have returned to normal baseline levels, and we conducted a monitoring period to confirm long term stability. Mastercard has acknowledged the anomaly on their network and is continuing to investigate the underlying root cause; Marqeta will incorporate any further findings once Mastercard's analysis is complete.
